October Book Selection

 

Our October selection will be Plainsong by Kent Haruf. We will meet on Sunday, October 24 at 7:00 pm(unless I’m picking my husband up at the airport…) .

August 2021 book selection

 For August, we will be reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. We will meet on Sunday, August 29 at 7. Looking forward to seeing you then.

July Selection: 2030

 Our July selection is 2030 by Albert Brooks. We will meet on Sunday, August 1 at 7:00 pm. Sorry it took me so long to pick a book. I was on vacation. See you all soon!

The Royal Reading Room June Selection

 The selection for June is The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. We will meet on Sunday, June 27 at 7pm. We hope everyone will be able to make our meeting. I know it has been a tough spring, schedule-wise. We will see you then!

May events in The Royal Reading Room

 

There are changes afoot in the Royal Reading Room. When I first floated the idea of this online book club, I got a huge response of interest. I created two clubs to try to accommodate everyone. What I’m finding as the year progresses is that while interest May remain high, the ability to participate is waning. The advent of summer and further reopening of society in general will also make attendance spotty for the foreseeable future. Therefore, we are reducing to a single book each month. The Royal Reading Room selection for May is Moonglow, by Michael Chabon. We will meet on Sunday, May 23 at 7:00pm EST. I hope by combining forces, we will ensure a likely discussion. Let me know if you have questions. Looking forward to seeing everyone in May.
