The Sage Salon January Meeting

The Sage Salon will be meeting on Saturday, January 30 at 7:00 pm EST. We will be discussing Apex Hides the Hurt by Colson Whitehead. Reader Denise has generously offered to let me piggyback on her pro zoom account from work so we will not be bound by the 40 minute time limit. I still recommend taking care of all of your restroom, beverage and snack needs before we begin (unless you are Reader Marie Dorothy and can reliably count on soft pretzel delivery). The Literary Lounge February Selection

 

The Literary Lounge had a successful first meeting last night where we discussed State of the Union. Our selection for our February meeting is Charming Billy by Alice McDermott. I am planning our meeting for Saturday, February 20 at 7:00 pm EST. As the date draws closer, I will post the zoom meeting information here to the blog.I look forward to seeing everyone then!

Literary Lounge January Meeting

 Our first meeting for the Literary Lounge will be this upcoming Saturday, January 16 at 7:00 pm EST. The zoom information is below. When you join the meeting, you'll be placed in a waiting room. I'll admit everyone at 7:00 pm. I don't have a paid account, so for now, we are limited to 40 minutes. Make sure your restroom and beverage needs are taken care of before we begin. I want to see how things go and then decide how I need to structure our future meetings. I'm making it up as I go. I would love if everyone would make themselves some kind of name card to display. I would also appreciate if you could comment below (please include your name...) if you plan to attend so I can have an idea of who and how many people I am expecting.

The Royal Reading Room

Welcome to The Royal Reading Room! I will hold two virtual book club meetings a month. The Literary Lounge will feature a lighter read while The Sage Salon will involve a book that delves a bit deeper.

I’ll post the selections and meeting dates for each month. We will take a cafeteria-style approach. You are welcome to attend any or all discussions for which you’ve read the accompanying book. The zoom codes for each meeting will be posted.
